MUHC eBooks

More than 1000 eBooks are available through the MUHC Libraries.

Focusing primarily, but not exclusively, on nursing topics, the collection includes:

  • clinical guides,
  • evidence-based practice manuals,
  • practical handbooks,
  • professional development titles.

This guide contains everything you will need to get started with eBooks today.

Finding eBooks

You can find eBooks by searching our library catalogue. Enter a topic into the title or subject field, check off Limit to MUHC eBooks and click on Search.

Once you’ve found a title you’re interested in, click on the title to see the full record. Click on the MUHC e-Version link to access the eBook.

If you are an advanced user of EBSCO or Ovid, you can also search these platforms directly.

Remote Access to eBooks

If you are working from home, you can access our eBooks and other digital content by first logging in to Remote Access. See our guide on Accessing MUHC Libraries E-resources Remotely for detailed instructions.

EBSCOhost: Alternatively, you can sign in with your EBSCOhost account. You will first need to create an account from an MUHC computer, through Citrix, or at home while connected to the proxy.

Ovid: You can access Ovid eBooks through Citrix, but not through the remote access proxy. To set up Citrix for the first time, speak to your manager.
