Changes in access to electronic resources

On July 1st, 2013, all electronic resources (e.g., databases, journals, books) currently available via McGill University will require authentication with a McGill username (e-mail address) and password. McGill usernames and passwords are available to faculty, staff, medical residents, and students of McGill University. This change in access is necessary in order to comply with the McGill University Library’s contractual licensing agreements.

Hospital based staff or students without McGill credentials will be unable to access any e-resources licensed by McGill Library after July 1st, 2013. MUHC librarians have negotiated the purchase of several databases and will communicate their availability to you as soon as possible. As well, the following e-resources are presently subscribed to by MUHC libraries and are not affected by this change: UpToDate, Natural Standard, TOXINZ, StatDX.

Non-McGill hospital personnel will be able to use the document delivery/interlibrary loan service available through their hospital libraries.

Should you have any questions please contact: Joanne Baird, Montreal Children’s Hospital; Elizabeth Lamont, Royal Victoria Hospital & Montreal General Hospital ; Wendy Blue, Montreal Neurological Hospital.
